School Transportation Driver
Part-Time | School-Year Position| Aurora, Ontario
The opportunity
Hive5 Interactive STEAM Playpark is seeking a dependable, safety-first driver to support weekday school pickup and transportation during the school year. Routes are mainly in the afternoon, with schedules based on school dismissal times and Hive5 transportation routes.
Candidates may apply using their own suitable vehicle or to drive a vehicle provided by Hive5. The assigned option will depend on route needs, vehicle suitability, documentation, and operational requirements.

What you’ll do
- Complete safe, timely school pickups and transport school-aged children to Hive5.
- Verify attendance and each child’s identity before departure, following Hive5 pickup procedures.
- Ensure children are released only through the authorized handoff process at Hive5.
- Follow assigned routes, pickup windows, timing expectations, and communication procedures.
- Maintain a clean, orderly vehicle and complete basic pre-route safety checks.
- Immediately report delays, route changes, vehicle concerns, incidents, or safety issues.
- Communicate calmly and professionally with Hive5 staff, school personnel, families, and children.
What you bring
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle you will operate.
- A clean and current driver’s abstract and a strong driving record.
- A Vulnerable Sector Check / Police Record Check acceptable to Hive5 before beginning the role.
- Driving history transporting school-aged children is preferred.
- Previous school transportation, school bus, daycare or childcare transportation, or other experience driving children is a strong asset.
- A reliable smartphone with navigation capability and consistent availability for route communication.
- Dependability, punctuality, sound judgment, patience, and a calm, safety-first approach.
- The ability to follow child-verification, handoff, route, incident-reporting, and confidentiality procedures.
Vehicle and documentation requirements
If you use your own vehicle, you must provide and maintain appropriate insurance and all required vehicle documentation. The vehicle must be suitable for the assigned route and kept clean, safe, and roadworthy.
For every assignment, all licensing, insurance, vehicle, and safety documentation applicable to the assigned vehicle and route must be current and maintained. Requirements may vary depending on the vehicle, route, passenger capacity, and assignment.

PROGRAM & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR

Hive5 is looking for a confident, organized and customer-focused Program & Customer Experience Coordinator to manage our afternoon front desk and support the smooth operation of our STEAM Playpark and after-school programs. This role combines customer service, sales, administration, payment coordination and daily program support.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome families and visitors and provide a professional, friendly front-desk experience.
- Answer incoming phone calls, emails and in-person inquiries about Hive5 programs, memberships, camps, clubs, birthday parties and other services.
- Use strong sales and follow-up skills to turn inquiries into tours, trials, registrations, memberships and bookings.
- Explain programs, pricing and policies clearly and recommend the most suitable options for each family.
- Manage registrations, student information, waivers, attendance records and general front-desk documentation.
- Prepare and issue invoices and receipts, process and record payments, monitor outstanding balances and complete professional payment follow-ups.
- Use and maintain CRM, registration, scheduling, invoicing and payment systems accurately.
- Support daily after-school operations, including student arrivals, attendance, parent pickup and dismissal procedures.
- Coordinate with teachers, counsellors and management to keep afternoon programs running smoothly.
- Respond appropriately to routine parent concerns and escalate safety, payment or service issues when required.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming and professional reception area.

Qualifications & Skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both in person and by phone.
- Demonstrated sales ability and confidence asking for the registration or booking.

- Comfortable handling payments, invoices, receipts and basic financial administration.

 CREATIVE ARTS & STEAM EDUCATOR

Hive5 is looking for a creative, energetic and modern educator to lead hands-on Arts and STEAM experiences for children. This is not a traditional art-teacher role. We are looking for someone who can combine art, design, technology, making and exploration to help children develop their own ideas and creations.
Role Overview
The educator may lead morning workshops for younger children, support daytime programs, and deliver creative activities during Hive5’s after-school hours. Depending on programming needs, additional weekend shifts may also be available. The ideal candidate is flexible across age groups and comfortable adapting activities for younger children as well as school-age students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate Arts and STEAM workshops.
- Deliver creative morning programs for younger children using sensory, process-based and exploratory learning.
- Lead or support creative programming during after-school hours.
- Create projects that combine art with science, engineering, technology and design.
- Introduce children to modern creative tools such as digital drawing, graphic design, photography, simple animation and age-appropriate AI-assisted creativity.
- Use traditional and modern materials including paint, clay, mixed media, recycled materials, cardboard construction and maker supplies.
- Guide children through design challenges, prototypes and open-ended creative projects rather than copy-the-teacher activities.
- Prepare materials before classes and organize, clean and return materials after each program.

Creative Skills We Value

- Maker-style projects, model building, recycled-material design or simple product/prototype creation.
- 3D design and 3D printing experience is a strong asset.
- Experience with Cricut/cutting machines, stop-motion, animation, photography or digital fabrication is an asset.
- Ability to connect art with STEAM concepts and turn a theme or challenge into a practical hands-on project.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in art, STEAM, education, camps, workshops, recreation or another creative learning environment.
- Background in fine arts, graphic design, illustration, architecture, product/industrial design, animation, early childhood education, STEAM education or a related creative field is an asset.
- A teaching degree is not required; practical creative ability, strong facilitation skills and the ability to engage children are more important.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome birthday families, children and guests and create a warm, energetic first impression.
- Host birthday parties from arrival through departure and keep each stage of the party running on schedule.

Hive5 Innovative STEAM Center – Aurora, ON
Hive5 Innovative STEAM Center is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Summer Camp Volunteers to support our STEAM summer camp program for kids. The volunteer will work alongside our experienced staff to help plan and implement fun and educational activities that promote creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with kids, have a love for STEAM subjects, and enjoy collaborating with others in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Hive5 staff with planning and delivering STEAM-based activities and lessons for campers.
- Engage with campers in a positive and supportive manner, helping them to explore and learn about different STEAM subjects.
- Help to set up and clean up activity stations and materials before and after each activity.
- Support the safety and wellbeing of campers by ensuring that they follow camp rules and procedures.
- Participate in daily camp meetings to provide feedback and suggestions for improving the camp experience.
- Attend training sessions and orientation before the start of camp to learn about the Hive5 curriculum and policies.
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to create a fun and engaging summer camp experience for all campers.
- Stay outside for recess times and one hour every day to supervise outdoor activities.
- Monitor the campers during the lunchtime and recess time.
- Play and set up morning warm up games and afternoon wrap up.
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 or older.
- A passion for working with kids and promoting STEAM education.
- Be active and energetic and able to encourage the younger camper to be engaged in activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from Hive5 staff and leadership.
